Heather and Maggie were settled and happy in their new life, and both were making friends. One night, as Heather tucked Maggie in, she looked up and said, "Mom?"

"Yes sweetie?"

"Are you ever gonna get married?" Maggie asked seriously.

"Now where did THAT come from, young lady?" Heather said.

"Ohh, I don't know. I just wondered if you were lonely sometimes."

"Honey, I have you, who could be lonely?" Heather started to tickle Maggie, who screamed with laughter, and Heather hoped that the conversation had ended. But as soon as Maggie got her breath, she said, "Mom, that was fun, but don't you always tell ME not to try to change the subject?" Maggie looked up at Heather with a gleam in her eye, and started to giggle.

"Oh you!" Heather tried to look sternly at Maggie, but couldn't do it. Since the move the two of them had bonded and the past was really gone where Maggie had felt unloved.

"Mom?" "Yes sweetie," Heather sighed.

Maggie hesitated. "I, umm, just wanted you to know, that it is okay with me, if you go out and date."

"What brought that on?" Heather asked surprised.

"Well, I was thinking about when I yelled at you," Maggie began.

"Ohhh, honey, that was a very long time ago. Are you still worrying over it sweetie? Well, don't. I stay home because I want to, not because of any other reason. I just haven't met anyone I really click with yet, do you understand that?" Heather explained.

"Mom?" "Yes, sweetie," Heather smiled.

"Did you know that Aunt Lisa is not the twins "real" mom?" Maggie declared. "Yes honey, I know, why?" Heather asked. She had no idea where Maggie was going with this.

"Just checking," Maggie said.

Hmm, Heather started wondering what was really going on here. "Spit it out, young lady."

"Well, I think it's neat that THEY think of her as real, that's all," Maggie replied.

"Sooo, what you are really trying to tell me, is that you want a daddy, right?" "Well, it would be nice, Mom. Could you work on it?" Maggie asked sleepily. She could have been asking for a puppy, the way she asked, Heather thought. Heather smoothed the covers, tucked her in, kissed her forehead, and said, "Okay, I will think about it. Good night, baby!"

The next weekend, Maggie was over at the twin's house, playing with Jennifer and Robin when Charlie walked in and said, "Guess what, girls!"

"What, Daddy?" "What, Uncle Charlie?"

"Well, my brother Bob called, and he is coming for Thanksgiving," he replied. "WOW!" Robin and Jennifer screamed. They began jumping up and down. They hadn't seen their uncle in about two years, because he lived in Chicago. He was at the University of Chicago finishing his Master's Degree and teaching, but Charlie told them that he has finished, and has decided to come back to New York.

The twins really loved their young uncle. He was fun, and loved to tease and play with them. "Ohh Maggie, you will just love him, we promise," the girls told her. Jenn ran off to get the family picture album to show Maggie some pictures of her uncle, while Robin continued to fill her in on her uncle's many virtues.

"How old is he?" Maggie asked.

"He's younger than Daddy," Robin said.

"Yeah, but how MUCH younger?" Maggie persisted.

"I don't know, why?" Robin asked, confused.

"Ohhhh, just thinkin'," Maggie replied. Robin knew Maggie was up to something, but she wouldn't say a word.

That night, in bed with the twins, Maggie started peppering them with questions about their Uncle Bob. "Is he like your dad? Is he nice? Is he strict?" on and on until they got louder and louder.

Finally, Charlie yelled to them, "GIRLS? Don't make me come in there. Go to sleep!"

"Yes Daddy, Yes Uncle Charlie, they yelled back. "Pipe down everyone, shhhhh, we don't need a spanking tonight, sheesh!" said Robin.

"Come on, Maggie, what gives, asked Jenn.

"Well, I just thought, wouldn't it be neat if umm, your uncle, and my mom, ummmm," Maggie began. But she got too shy and couldn't finish.

Robin jumped in and said, "Wow, I get it. That WOULD be cool, we would REALLY be related then, huh?"

"Of course we would, silly," said Jenn.

"Okay, we need a good plan. We can't leave it up to them, you know," Maggie informed them.

"True!" the twins solemnly replied.

"Okay, let's think. What are you and your mom doing for Thanksgiving?" Jennifer asked.

"We are going upstate to be with my grandmother, why?" Maggie asked. "Well, silly, that's when our uncle is coming, and I think it would be better if you were here, and your mom helped our mom cook, and Uncle Bob could see how terrific she was, and they could fall in love. With a little help from us, of course!" Jennifer explained.

"Hmm, what do I do about my grandmother?" Maggie pondered.

"Well, we have to think about that," Jennifer said.

"What if, nah, never mind," Robin said.

"No, what? Tell us," Maggie said.

"Well, Jenn is usually the one who can come up with a plot. But, what if we got our parents to invite your grandmother here for Thanksgiving? Of course, you both know, somehow we are all gonna get in trouble over this, don't you?" Robin uttered.

"Well, wouldn't it be worth it?" Maggie asked.

"Hmmm," said Robin, not at all convinced.

The girls were so engrossed in their conversation, they did not hear Charlie come in. When he saw that they were all awake, he said, "What is this? Do I have to separate you?" "No sir," they all answered.

"Okay, NO MORE TALKING. IS THAT CLEAR?" "Yes sir."

"It is late, and I don't need any cranky little girls tomorrow. GO TO BED!" Charlie left, and they all looked at one another, and knew that one more peep would get them in big trouble. They all sighed, rolled over and the twins went right to sleep.

Maggie, wide awake, couldn't stop thinking and praying that her plan would work. Somehow, she just knew that her mom and the twins' uncle would be perfect for each other. The problem was getting THEM to know it.

~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning at breakfast, Maggie asked Charlie when his brother was coming. "Well, I think he said the day before Thanksgiving. He will be here, with us, and then he has some interviews set for the following week. I think he is planning to teach at Long Island University, and it is pretty set, but he has to interview, then go back to Chicago and pack, and all, and then move here around the first of the year. Why all the questions, Maggie?"
"Ohhh, nothing, Uncle Charlie. Just curious," she replied fliply.
Maggie was really antsy all day, and was itching to do SOMETHING. The twins saw that look in her face, and knew they were going to get into trouble.
"Let's play dress up!" Maggie announced.
"With what?" the girls asked.
"I saw some boxes in the storage bins in the basement when we were down there with your mom the other day. Let's go down and see what's in there," Maggie suggested.
"You know we aren't allowed to do that, Maggie," Robin advised.
"Ahhh, come on, it'll be fun," Maggie pleaded.
"Not me," said Robin. "I am going over to play at Caroline's apartment. You two have fun." With that, Robin went across the hall and knocked on Caroline's door.
"Coward," they whispered after her.
"Don't care, I am NOT going with you two," Robin responded.
Jennifer and Maggie decided to go through with their plan. Walking into the kitchen, they asked Lisa if they could go to play at Caroline's too, knowing she would NOT say yes.
"Well girls, I think that Caroline and Robin wanted some one on one time. How about we think of something else for you two? Why don't you call Cindy down on the first floor, and see if she can come up?" Lisa suggested.
"Okay, we will do that, come on Maggie." Jennifer went over to the phone in the other room, held down the button and dialed, then pretended to talk. "Umm, Mom!" she yelled, "Cindy can't come up but asked if we could come down. Is that okay?"
"Is her mom there?" Lisa asked. "Yes, she is, Mommy," Jenn lied.
"Okay, let me talk to her," Lisa called.
"Umm, she is changing the baby, Mommy, and can't come to the phone," Jenn lied again.
"Ohh, okay, tell CINDY it is fine," Lisa sighed.
Hanging up the phone, the girls went back to the kitchen. Lisa told them to be home by lunchtime and they agreed. Meanwhile, Maggie has gotten the key from the desk drawer where she knew it was kept, while Jenn talked to Lisa. The girls left, not believing how easy it was.
Down in the basement, they unlocked the storage unit, and found all kinds of neat boxes of stuff to play with. The time slipped away, and neither of them thought to bring a watch. They were so involved in what they were doing and having so much fun, that they didn't realize it was past noon.
Robin came back from Caroline's for lunch, and noticed that Maggie and Jenn weren't there. Lisa was beginning to get annoyed that the girls weren't back. Figuring they had lost track of time, she called up Cindy's mom and asked her to send the girls home.
"What girls?" Cindy's mother, Barbara, asked. "I haven't seen Jennifer or Maggie, Lisa."
"Well, didn't they call earlier and talk to Cindy?" Lisa asked confused.
"I don't think so. Cindy spent the night at a friend's house, so they couldn't have," Barbara offered.
"Okay, thanks Barbara," Lisa sighed. Hanging up the phone, Lisa turned to Robin and said, "Okay, where are they?"
Robin, not wanting to be a tattle tale, said, "Who Mommy?"
"Don't even try that young lady," Lisa scolded. "Unless YOU want to be in as much trouble as they are."
"Umm, no Mommy, but you know I hate being a snitch," Robin said.
"I know, sweetie, but I have to find the girls. If you know where they are, you need to tell me," Lisa advised.
Robin knew she had no choice and told her mom that Jenn and Maggie were in the basement. Lisa was furious, and went down in the elevator to get them. The girls both had on long dresses and heels and were parading around in them when they looked up and saw Lisa.
In a very quiet tone, Lisa told them to put the clothes back, and come with her. They both froze, seeing the look on her face, and she said NOW, and that got them moving. They quickly took everything off, shoved it back into the boxes, and followed Lisa upstairs.
"Aunt Lisa, it's all my fault, really, it is," Maggie cried.
"Well, Jennifer went with you, didn't she?" Lisa scolded.
"Yes, Mommy, I did," Jennifer replied.
"AND you lied to me, faked that phone call to CINDY! You both know you are NOT allowed in the storage unit, and you STOLE the key. Shall I go on?"
"No," both girls hung their heads.
"Jennifer, you go to your room! Maggie, you go into my bedroom and wait for me. Robin, eat your lunch," Lisa said looking at each in turn. All three said, "Yes ma'am," knowing that Lisa was in no mood to hear anything else.
Walking into the twins' room first, she pulled out a chair and held Jennifer between her knees. "Whatever possessed you to do all those naughty things, young lady?"
"I don't know, Mommy, we were just bored, and it seemed like a good idea at the time. It seemed like it would be fun," Jennifer replied honestly.
"Well, do you still think it was a good idea?" Lisa asked sarcastically.
"No, Mommy, I guess not," said Jenn reluctantly.
"Do you know why you are going to be punished?" Lisa asked.
"Yes, Mommy. I shouldn't have pretended to call Cindy, or gone to play in the basement."
Lisa pulled Jenn into her arms for a hug, and told her, "Honey, I don't know what it is going to take to get this through to you, but I NEED to know where you are at all times. I can't take care of you, if you don't tell me."
Jennifer had never thought of that in that way before, and slow tears fell down her face.
"I am sooo sorry I worried you, Mommy," Jenn said.
"I know you are sweetie. But you still must be punished," Lisa replied.
"Mommy, I won't do it again, I promise, please don't spank me!"
Lisa said, "Honey, I am sorry. I don't like spanking you, but it is my job to make sure you know right from wrong. What you did today was wrong. Do you understand that?"
"Yes, Mommy," Jenn sighed again.
"Then let's get this over with," Lisa said and pulled down Jennifer's shorts and panties, and began her spanking. She spanked harder than usual, because she really wanted Jennifer to learn to think before she acted, which is what she began her lecture with.
Lisa spanked again and again, right in the middle of her bottom, and down further on her sit spot. She wanted to make sure this lesson sunk in. When Jenn was sobbing, Lisa stopped, rubbed her bottom, and told her it was important for her to learn responsibility for her actions. Reaching over, Lisa began again with the hairbrush.
"Oh nooooo Mommy, please, not the hairbrush, MOMMMY, OHHHHH, OUCHHHHHHH." Jenn's wails could clearly be heard by Maggie, who was feeling pretty guilty and nervous about now.
Finally, Lisa was satisfied that Jennifer had learned her lesson, and stood her up, then took her into her arms for a long hug, letting her sob it out. Kissing her forehead Lisa told her how much she loved her, and wanted her to always be safe.
Jenn thought this was the worst spanking she had ever gotten.
"Okay, now go get your pantsies, and I want you to take a nap, young lady. You can have lunch when you wake up."
Still sniffling Jenn did as she was told. Lisa quickly changed her, and put her to bed, tucked her in, and kissed her again.
Marching down the hallway, Lisa knew she had another one to deal with. Opening the door to her bedroom, she saw Maggie standing in the corner. Sitting on her bed, Lisa beckoned her over to her side. Maggie was shuffling from foot to foot, looking down at her shoes.
"Look at me, Maggie." Maggie couldn't seem to meet Lisa's gaze. Lisa put her finger under Maggie's chin to make her look into her eyes. "Tell me, young lady, whose idea was it to go down to the storage unit this morning?"
Maggie sighed and knew she had to tell the truth. She said, "It was my idea, Aunt Lisa."
"Did you think that it was a good idea, Maggie?" Lisa asked.
"Well, it seemed to be at the time," Maggie said.
"Okay, did you think about the fact that I am responsible for you?"
"Nooo."
"Did you think that if your Mommy called, I would have been lying to her by telling her you were at Cindy's house?" "Nooooo."
"Did you think that if there was an emergency and your mommy needed you, I wouldn't have known where to look for you?" "Noooooo."
Slow tears began falling down Maggie's face. "What else do you think you didn't think of, Maggie?" "I umm, well, I ahhh, don't know, Aunt Lisa," Maggie cried.
"Did you think about the fact that you were lying to me? Or that you KNEW you were doing something you shouldn't have? Or that you got your friend into trouble by talking her into doing something SHE knew she shouldn't be doing?" Lisa was now shouting.
"I am sorry, Aunt Lisa, I really am, I guess I didn't think," Maggie blurted. "No, you certainly didn't, Maggie. Do you understand that I care about you?" "Yes."
"And that I don't ever, ever want anything bad to happen to you?"
"I guess so," Maggie stated.
"You Guess?" "No Aunt Lisa, I know you don't."
"That's better, Maggie. Now tell me why you should be punished."
"Because I did something I knew I shouldn't have, and talked Jenn into doing it, too. I lied to you about where we were, and I was responsible, and Mommy says I have to be responsible for my actions," said Maggie.
"Yes, you do. Now, you have two choices, young lady. I can punish you now, or we can wait and tell your mommy when she gets here and she will handle it," Lisa offered.
Maggie's eyes opened wide. "Ohh please, Aunt Lisa, don't tell Mommy. Please punish me yourself."
"All right, Maggie, if you are sure." "Yes, I am sure."
With that, Lisa quickly pulled down her shorts and panties, pulled her over her knee, and began a hard, fast spanking. She didn't alternate cheeks like Charlie, but spanked right in the middle, over and over and got a quick reaction from Maggie.
As the sting got deeper, Maggie's sobs could be heard everywhere. "I am soooo sorry, Aunt Lisa, pleaseeeee, I will NEVER EVER disobey you again. Please!"
Lisa finally felt that Maggie had had enough, and stood her up, quickly pulling the sobbing girl into her arms.
"I really do care about you, Maggie. And want the best for you," Lisa said lovingly.
"I know, Aunt Lisa," Maggie sobbed into her shoulder. "I am sorry."
"All right now, go lay down on my bed and take a nap. We will talk more when you and Jenn get up," Lisa ordered.
Maggie carefully laid down on her tummy, and Lisa tucked her in. Then she rubbed her back for a minute, kissed her forehead, and closed the door on her way back to the kitchen.
"What a day!" Lisa sighed. "Thank goodness I didn't have to punish all three of them."
