The next morning Maggie woke up, rolled over, and instantly remembered what had happened the day before. Her bottom still hurt, but she smiled thinking that her Mom and Uncle Bob were going to go out on a real date. She couldn't remember when her mom had gone out on a date last, and felt it would be good for her. That is, if they didn't fight all night.

Maggie walked into the kitchen. She was surprised to see a cushion on her seat at the table. She smiled up at her mom, who said, "I, umm, thought you might need that, sweetie. Uncle Bob really warmed your bottom good for you yesterday, didn't he?"

"Umm, yes, Mom," Maggie replied, rubbing her bottom.

"Did you learn anything, sweetheart?" Heather asked.

"Yes, Mommy, I can't run away from my problems. Do you think Uncle Charlie is going to be angry when I see him today?" Maggie had just thought of that, and started worrying.

"Nooo, honey, Uncle Charlie knows you have been punished, so it is over with. Okay? I want you to have a good time today with the twins, but pleasssseee be good, will you, young lady?"

"Ohhh yes, Mommy, I don't think I could LIVE through another spanking," she said dramatically. Heather just laughed and piled pancakes on her plate.

After cleaning up and getting ready, Heather and Maggie walked over to the Clemente's apartment. As soon as they rung the bell, Robin opened the door wide, pulled Maggie in, and they ran back to her room.

Bob walked out of the den, and seeing Heather, smiled warmly at her, and asked if she were ready to have a fun day.

"Sure," Heather replied. "Are we going to the movies?"

"Well, if it is okay with you, I would like to take a ride. There is an art exhibit in Manhasset, and then we could take a walk along the shore. There is a wonderful little restaurant called the Hungry Bear that we could go to for dinner, if that sounds okay with you," Bob announced.

"It sounds charming," Heather replied.

"Good, let's say goodbye and get going," Bob said.

Heather peeked into the girls room where they were talking a mile a minute, and kissed Maggie, reminding her to be good again.

"I willlll, sheesh mom, you have a great time and don't worry about me, okay?" Maggie said impatiently.

"Well, I KNOW you will be good with your Uncle Charlie," Heather said, and smiled at her. "Have fun girls," she told the twins.

The weather was really warm for the end of November, and as they drove out to the north shore of Long Island, they marveled at nature. Heather started feeling shy again, and Bob, sensing this, started telling her funny stories from his grad school days.

Heather started relaxing and after the art exhibit, they headed to the shore to walk. Heather's hand easily slipped into Bob's, and they walked chatting and getting to know each other. Both were cautious, but the warmth and connection was there, and Heather knew that there would be no problem with Maggie, if things started moving in the right direction with Bob.

All of a sudden, Heather spotted a pile of leaves and running ahead she grabbed a handful of them. When Bob caught up, she threw them up into his face. "HEY!" he yelled at her. He was laughing. Heather turned to get more. Then Bob grabbed some and threw them back.

Before they knew it, they were rolling in the leaves, tickling and teasing each other. Bob finally pinned Heather under him, and she put a handful down his back. "That's it, young lady," Bob told her.

"Ohhh really," she replied, as bratty as she could.

"Uh Huh," Bob said. He easily flipped her over his knee, and started to spank her. He was teasing her at first, and then warming to his task, he spanked and lectured her on her bratty behavior. Far from feeling chastised, Heather began to feel very turned on.

"Will you behave?" SWAT. Heather was smiling and didn't want Bob to know how she was really feeling. So she said, "Welllllll, I will THINK about it."

"Think about it, young lady?" Bob upped the ante, and began to really swat her bottom hard, and got some satisfying yelps out of Heather.

"Okay, you win, I will behave," Heather cried.

"I am not convinced yet, young lady," and with that Bob planted ten harder swats to her bottom. Heather knew at that moment that she had found the man of her dreams. Especially when he rolled her over, took her into his arms, and kissed her breathless while rubbing her bottom.

Bob couldn't believe how attracted he was to this little imp. And he knew he already cared about her daughter. But a ready-made family? That was something to think about. HE thought he should be logical, and think all this through. Then he looked down into Heather's eyes, looking dreamily up at him, caught up in passion she didn't even recognize, and he knew he was lost.

They finally came apart and Bob brushed her off. He took her hand again as they walked back to the car on their way to dinner. Bob wanted to know everything about her, and Heather was reluctant to tell him about how she managed to get pregnant at 15.

He gently probed, and she could tell that he was NOT being judgmental, so she told him that it was just the typical story. Cheerleader falls in love with football star, and they are too stupid to use birth control, 'cause after all, it couldn't happen to them, right? Wrong. She really thought she loved him, but of course, looking back, she realized that it wasn't love at all, but you can't tell a teenager anything.

Her mom tried to talk her into having an abortion, but she wouldn't hear of it. And, of course, being with Maggie, although challenging, was the right thing to do. Heather explained that Maggie was the best thing in her life.

Bob knew she really meant that, and that endeared her to him even more. Then Bob told her about growing up in Charlie's shadow, how hard it was to compete with Mr Perfect. One of the reasons he chose to go to Chicago was to get OUT of Charlie's shadow, and to learn to be himself. The funny thing was, Bob explained, was the longer he was away, the more he realized how much he was like his brother, and stopped worrying about the differences.

Dinner passed quickly, and Heather told Bob she felt she needed to get back to Maggie. Not wanting to rush her, Bob quickly agreed and they decided to get together with Maggie on Saturday. Bob needed to do some house hunting and thinks it would be fun to go together.

"Why don't you come over, have breakfast, and we can peruse the classified section and go look at some?" Heather suggested.

Bob was hesitant. "Do you think Maggie would be bored?"

"No, I think she will love spending time with you," Heater replied.

Bob felt he could get lost looking into Heather's eyes, and wondered, even though he knew it was way too soon to be having these thoughts, if there could ever be a future for them.

As they arrived back at the Clemente's apartment, Bob reached for Heather and kissed her soundly, before inserting his key in the door. Heather felt breathless and Lisa noticed her disheveled and dreamy look as soon as she saw her. Smiling to herself, she wondered how long it would take them to realize they were perfect for each other.

Knocking on the twins' door, they said hi to all three girls. Maggie came flying over to her Mom to give her a big hug. She started asking questions at a rapid rate.

"Hold on, Maggs, one question at a time," Heather said. She laughed and hugged her daughter, and told her the plans for the next day.

The twins immediately wanted to come, too. Charlie heard the commotion, intervened, and told them he had something special planned for them, too. They begged to know what, but Charlie wouldn't tell them. The girls had NO clue that Charlie said that just to deter them. Then he wondered just what to come up WITH. Ah well, his brother and Heather need some alone time with Maggie. He also saw what Lisa did, and wondered how soon the wedding would be.
